WATAZAMAJI

The idea for this series came when a friend invited me to visit Kaesa while we were working on another project.

I was immediately drawn to his home, not just for its textures or light, but for the character in every corner: boxing gloves, a vintage TV, comics, and plants. I’ve always believed that spaces speak. They reflect the people who inhabit them. Later, I asked if we could make portraits there, with a friend, not as lovers, but as companions. What followed was an unfolding: posture, comfort, and glances that said more than words.

I chose to explore this story on two rolls of film: Portra 400 & Portra 800, capturing slow, deliberate, and imperfect moments.
